PVHA-4H

To Make the Best, Better

What do we do at meetings?

We divide our members into three age groups, Cloverbuds (ages 4-8), Juniors (ages 9-12), and Teens (ages 13-19).  The Cloverbuds meet for the entire meeting for a variety of stories, activities and crafts.  The Juniors and Teens time is divided between gym time and a club time for the first hour.  During the second hour, the Juniors and Teens split up into project groups where they work on a single project that they have selected for a duration of 6 club meetings.  Then in the spring the children will have an opportunity to select a new project.

A wide variety of programs and projects are available in these categories:

  • Citizenship & Civic Education
  • Communication & Arts
  • Consumer & Family Finances
  • Environment Education
  • Healthy Lifestyle Nutrition
  • Personal Development
  • Leadership Skills
  • Plant and Animals
  • Science and Technology
  • Robotics

When does PVHA-4H meet?

We meet on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from October through May, except December when we meet on the second Tuesday for a 2 hour workshop.  These meetings are held  in Downtown Bangor, from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm at Columbia St. Baptist Church.  Special field trips, science fairs, workshops, planning meetings, and community service projects are announced as they are scheduled.  In May we conclude the school year with a Yearend Program that highlights student plays, the presentation of club awards and high school graduations.
