To Make the Best, Better

What do we do at meetings?

We start our meetings at one o'clock with a short but fun group wide project; followed by the recital of our pledges.

Next, we separate into three age groups:

  • Cloverbuds (ages 4-8)
  • Juniors (ages 9-12)
  • Teens (ages 13-19)

The Cloverbuds meet for the entire meeting for a variety of stories, activities and crafts, led by Mrs. Tammi Dearing. Meanwhile, the Juniors and Teens time is divided between three stations:

  • 1:30 to 2:00: Gym Time
The Juniors and Teens come together to play games like Capture the Flag and Soccer
  • 2:00 to 2:30: Club Time
The Juniors and Teens split up here and conduct their own meetings, where they elect officers and discuss community service, our annual fair board, and anything else that comes to mind.
  • 2:30 to 3:30: Project Time: Everyone splits up into project groups where they work on a single project that they have selected for a duration of six club meetings. The children will have an opportunity to select a new project after that.

When and where does PVHA-4H meet?

We meet on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from October through May, except December when we only meet on the second Tuesday for a two hour workshop. These meetings are held in Brewer from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm at the First United Methodist Church. Special field trips, science fairs, workshops, planning meetings, and community service projects are announced as they are scheduled. In May we conclude the school year with a Year End Program that highlights a talent show, the presentation of club awards and high school graduations.
